Discover the excitement and thrill of flying as you soar into the beautiful Maryland skies during this introductory flight lesson. This four-hour flying experience over the Baltimore Inner Harbor and Annapolis is the perfect opportunity to discover what it is like to pilot a light aircraft and learn the basics of aviation. The airborne adventure begins when you meet the pilot and certified flight instructor at Freeway Airport in Bowie, Maryland. From takeoff to landing you will experience the hands on fundamentals of flight. Under the watchful eye of your instructor you will be allowed to pilot the aircraft in turns, climbs, and descents to see what flying is all about. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture some of the most breathtaking views of Maryland from the air. Plus, you can even bring a guest with you to help you capture the memories of this incredible adventure. In between take off and landing in Bowie, you will make a pit stop at the Cambridge–Dorchester Regional Airport to enjoy dinner at the famous Kay’s, where there is a great view of the runway from the dining room. Get your pen ready—you’ll be checking this once-in-a-lifetime experience off your bucket list!
Freeway and Tom are excited to support JDRF and are sure you will have a great time on this flight experience. Tom recommends the broiled crab cakes at Kay’s!

We're the stop at nothing type
JDRF exists for the millions of children, adults, and families affected by type 1 diabetes (T1D) every single day. Their determination to overcome this disease strengthens ours to end it by funding life-changing T1D research.
T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person's pancreas loses the ability to produce insulin — a hormone essential to turning food into energy. It strikes both children and adults suddenly and is unrelated to diet and lifestyle. It requires constant carbohydrate counting, blood-glucose testing, and lifelong dependence on injected insulin.
Your participation in JDRF events ensures that JDRF can continue funding critical T1D research. With your support, this research will continue to bring us closer to a world without T1D.
